Slimbridge in Gloucestershire is home to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust’s 120-acre waterbird reserve, boasting the world’s largest collection of swans, geese, and ducks.
RSPB Greylake on the Somerset Levels is a great place to visit to see a whole range of birds and other wetland wildlife. The fields here used to be arable farmland, but now they are being looked after by the RSPB so that they are ideal for wetland birds. It’s a small site, so it’s easy to possible to pop in after work and see some amazing wildlife in the hides and board walks across the marshy site. (more…)
